VOLUNTEER
Community-minded and service-oriented … this is how the Columbia Foundation strives to position the Club within the DMV area. Cultivating lasting relationships with its Community Impact Fund grantees and applicants is a priority for the Foundation, especially since these non-profits have ties to Club members through their own philanthropic activities.
By hosting hands-on volunteer activities throughout the year, the Foundation offers Club members ways to engage and support organizations making an impact. Within the past year, Club members have gathered to sort and bundle diapers at the DC Diaper Bank, donate needed hygiene supplies for Mercy Health Clinic, stuff backpacks used by students at Washington Jesuit Academy and even contribute food to those served by Families4Families and To Be Well Fed.
The remainder of 2023 will see the Foundation organizing more such efforts, including another backpack drive, a holiday toy collection, a Pizza for Firefighers Night and a Halloween trick-or-treat surprise for Chevy Chase police officers. Plan to join the Foundation in any or all of these efforts!
